Create-to-Earn

Creators are the heart of the Vy Worlds platform. The community is rolling out rewards for creators who make great games as the platform progresses.

There are three phases to development:

  1. Events-driven creator contests where the community manually picks winners of creator contests.

  2. Release automated Create-to-Earn rewards systems for token allocation.

  3. Launch creator monetization features to drive players to support creators. This will empower creators to earn after the create-to-earn tokens have been fully allocated.

Create-to-Earn Events

To kickstart the creator economy, the team has been running ongoing game-building contests for the Vy Worlds community since February.

These contests spark our community to create games and experiences and submit them for community review. The best worlds from the contest are added to the live in-game map rotation, and their creators are rewarded token prizes. This process is managed through our Discord, which you can join here.

Automated Create-to-Earn system

As the platform developers, the team will develop systems that automatically allocated tokens to creators based on the in-game actions of players.

At a high level, the design of the system will be that games with the most engagement earn the most Stars and later $VY tokens. These systems will need to be continually updated to reduce bad actors and improve the quality of the recommendations.

Creating a sustainable creator economy

As the allocation of $VY tokens for creators has been earned by creators, we will need ways for creators to earn directly from other players (and not the treasury).

One of the major goals of the $VY token is to incentivize creators to join the platform before it has as many players as platforms such as ROBLOX. Once the platform has reached a critical mass of players, there need to be systems in place where creators can earn revenue from players.

Here are some creator monetization concepts that we are exploring:

  1. Tip this creator: after a game is over and the party is sent back to the lobby, players will have an opportunity to tip $VY tokens to support the creator.

  2. Creator shops: shown to players in the lobby after a game is over, the creator shop gives players an opportunity to purchase special NFT that also the creator. Games with more engagement will get more eyes on their shop and generate more revenue.

  3. UGC NFT minting: empower creators to mint NFT to sell on the marketplace and in their own shops. This will someday include any NFT type on the platform including: Vy characters, Game building blocks, UGC games, weapons, and any other NFT on the platform.

  4. Free-to-play (F2P) tools: (long-term goal) we want to create tools where creators can make their own F2P economies in any given game.
